project runway recap: what's mine is yours
goodness, my september has been filled with a succession of ailments, but i managed to buck up and shake off my latest malaise to watch project runway last night.
considering our two hawaii designers grew up in one of the world's most visited island destinations, one would think andy south and ivy higa would have had last night's resortwear challenge in the bag. until tim gunn walked into the workroom and announced that, in addition to their design duties, they would be handing off their sketches and fabric and focusing their efforts on producing another contestant's look (andy was paired with valerie and ivy was matched with michael d.).
quelle surprise!

and, the designers dish on their favorites to win the challenge.
are you still 100% behind andy and ivy or do you find yourself fancying another designer after the recent on-screen shenanigans?

I'm not a huge Andy fan, but I thought he got robbed this week. That suit was the sexiest thing this season. Ivy continues to be more and more sour, and her constant bitter beer face makes me love whomever she's throwing under the bus at the moment more and more. She should have gone home over Casanova for being boring and for failing the challenge of working with others. Ivy was my favorite at the beginning of the season, and now she's my least favorite PR contestant EVER. I hope she goes down in flames.
I thought Ivy was going home, she really sent out a dud.
But I still have hope for her, she just has to find her voice as a designer and perhaps turn up the volume a bit, after all it is for the runway...Andy is killing it! He has great sewing skills and ideas. I thought he should have won this challenge. I can't believe Kristen Bell said she would wear that black baby doll get up on the red carpet! It's see-through and the shorts were horrible:( Andy's was way hotter.
aloha nani & sonya! happy we all agree that andy should have walked off the runway with a win. as for ivy . . . she seems to have approached her PR appearance with a business plan so one can only hope her on-screen persona was a deliberate attempt to up her q-score.
i was also a bit puzzled by kristen bell's red carpet comment about april's outfit. unless she has a ticket to the vma's, that look would walk straight into a well deserved ribbing by the fug girls.
