with the return of the women's closet sale on sunday, it seems like a good time to see what's new with a few of the designers who will be featured at the event. birds have been spotted all around the design world for quite some time (here and here to name a few) and our little feathered friends happen to be a recurring theme in the spring collection from ginger 13.

ginger 13 will be clearing out inventory from past seasons which means accessorizing your new outfits can be done for as little as $5. roberta oaks will also be there to show off her embellished and screenprinted designs as will a number of other up and coming island designers.

more pretty little things to show and tell! this time around it is all about jewelry line anje designs which was recently featured in the honolulu advertiser. the collection from kailua-based jewelry designer jessica crabtree is filled with a lovely mix of pieces which have an earthy yet worldly vibe.

jessica works with a variety of materials and one of her talents is hand forging sterling silver into eye catching organic shapes. many pieces shine with findings acquired around the world by her jet setting husband who hits the international markets to select the most alluring treasures to bring back to jessica's work table.

custom work is also available in case you need something just right to match the perfect wedding/prom/party dress. or invite your pals to your pad for a girl's night in with a home show (locations: hawaii & california) where everyone can admire the goods in person and perhaps earn yourself a little anje bling.

nine tail fox update

unbeknownst to the nine tail fox design team, the name they chose for their company also happened to be the title of a popular korean soap opera. they recently unveiled their new website and, to avoid confusion with the show, buzzed me with their bold decision to change the name of their jewelry line to tsang & mirai (you can read more about their decision here).

fran & anson, who have been injecting a little punk rock style into the island design scene since they launched their company last year, have been hard at work in their honolulu studio and the new site is stocked with fresh new designs and their popular origami pendants and wood jewelry. i am loving the gothic vibe of the lone raven however if you covet something cute for easter do take a peek at t+m's bunny necklace.

the etsy shop has also been hit with the name change stick and will remain open for orders on an edited selection of goods. 

last minute valentine's ideas

as promised earlier today, my tardy last minute valentine's round up. these delicate pink pearl filigree earrings from jools are understated but oh so pretty (fyi - take a peek at the freshly stocked sale section if you want to shower your valentine with gifts).

or, perhaps a potted striped phalaenopsis orchid plant from akatsuka orchid gardens (which is one of the few flower farms in the islands with a very user-friendly website).
